Getting A YES From Your Prospects

One of the most important aspects to network marketing is the importance of building successful relationships. To understand your prospects (for example: their motivations, strengths and weaknesses) is to have a strong foothold on the Clubfreedom ladder to success with them.

For thousands of years, we have tried to explain human behaviour by categorizing personalities. Over the years, many different names have been used for what we have set as the four temperaments. Today I want to share with you these four basic personality types. Why, you ask? If you can identify and understand your prospect's personality, you will know what motivates them. If you know how to motivate them, you will know how to approach them in business!

We are naming these four types of personalities after colors. We have the green, blue, gold and orange. Keep in mind that most people have personality traits in more than one color. However, typically they will be dominant in one personality group. This week we will give you a "Quick ID" for each color. Next week, we will tell you how to motivate each personality!

Stumbling Blocks To
Effective Team Leadership

Many things contribute to team success and some things get in the way. Team leadership is an important element in team success, so what are the most common stumbling blocks when it comes to effective team leadership?

The leader is closed-minded - One of the great strengths of teams is their ability to generate a whole host of alternatives and ideas. Used effectively these can contribute to great results and even take team performance to a higher level. On the other hand if the team leader is closed-minded and not open to new ideas then these ideas will never translate into results.
Not using appropriate leadership style - Leadership styles can essentially be grouped into five main categories - telling, telling and selling, consultation, participation and empowerment. The style that you adopt will depend on the situation, the expertise of those in the team and the context to name just a few. For example, in times of urgency you might need to go for a very directive, telling style. The key is to be able to adapt and use an appropriate leadership style when leading a team.
Self-interest before team results - Team members expect the team leader to be loyal to the team. If the leader becomes more interested in himself, he starts making choices from a self-interest perspective rather than from a team results perspective.
Lack of consistency - We have all probably worked for people who seem to lack any sort of consistency when it comes to dealing and interacting with others. For the team member this is a real challenge and can ultimately lead to disengagement. As the team leader, try and aim to be as consistent as you possibly can.
Having your favorites - Like anyone else you will have a better connection with some people in the team than others. At the same time you need to be alert to this connection leading to you having personal favorites, which can alienate others. Be alert to the fact that you might be showing favoritism.
Bottom Line - Team leadership is a vital component in team success. So what stumbling blocks are getting in the way of your success as a team leader?
We live in a world that favors extroverts, and when it comes to networking, many introverts feel at a disadvantage. In our next edition, we will show our introverts the strategies and approaches that you can use to be on a more level playing field with your extroverted counterparts.
